photo manipulation

This story had to do with the University of Wisconsin-Madison digitally inserting a black student's face into a photograph of white Badger football fans that was used on the cover of their new undergraduate application.

Reporter Anna Gould noticed that the face of the black student, Diallo Shabazz, looked different from the others in the picture.

Anna looked at the picture, noticed the glare and said, "Something isn't right here."

In the end they desided to print more copies, but with a diffrent photo on them.

Repetiton

The repetition in this photograph would have to be, the color blue, the people, wich are blue as well, and the dark blue lines.

The Blues
Performers rehearse for the opening ceremony of the 6th National City Games in Wuhan, capital of central China's Hubei province. The sporting meet will begin on Oct. 25 in Wuhan.

Repetition 2

This photograph is a good example of repetition, because the smoke repeats its self, and the color of it. The sheet metal is also repetition, the brown and grey, repeat them selves.
Wading through the Rubble.
A man tries to recover belongings from his shanty after a fire in Manila. More than 100 families were left homeless in the fire.

Repetition 3

I consider this photograph to be a good example of repetition because the shapes of the seats repeat, the color of the seats repeat, and the colors of the screans repeat.

Following questions about shooting my first real photojournalism assignment.

1. What challenges did you encounter while trying to get close, capture real moments, and capture action or emotion?
People would stop and pose, so, that would ruin the whole purpose.
I also, had problems with focusing the camera quickly before the object being photographed moved or stoped doing what it what it was doing.

How did you deal with these?
I told the people to pretend that i was not even there. I also, practiced alot, so that i could get better at focusing at a fast speed.

2. What technical aspects of photography (focus, exposure, composition) did you find yourself thinking about the most?
Focus, lightling, and compositon.

How did you make sure you did these correctly?
Thought about what I was thought, and tried to follow it as closlie as i possibly could.

3. Describe how you attempted to use at least one of the advanced composition techniques when you shot.
I tried to use the rule of thirds by taking a photograph of some one and other objects, but the person in the lower right.
I also tried filling the frame, by gettin close to the object and focusing on it.
I tried simplicity as well, i did this by, taking the photograph at an angle so, that the background was simple with out much activity.

1 of Bob Rosato's Favorite Shots

Focal length of the lens is 600 mm.
The Shutter Speed is 1/640.
The effect of shooting at this shutter speed is that you capture every little ditail of the focused area with out being blurry.
The Aperture of this photograph is f/4.0.
The effect (Depth of field) of shooting at this aperature is that the objects that you put in focus come out not blurry, but the background, or what ever you didnt focus will come out blurry.

Negative Critique

In my negatives i found that I needed a little bit more focus on the images that I took pictures of. I also need to try to get better photographs by getting better facial expresions. I found, that a couple of my pictures have "Dead Space" not much, but it would still be better if I "Filled theFrame".

Filling the Frame

I think that this image is a good example of "Filling the Frame" because there is hardly any dead space, and even though there are alot of objects that were shot in this photograph, everything fits perfectly.

Action and Emotion

This photograph had alot of action going on in the background and the student in the desk shows emotion on her face. The emotion that the student is showing is of, a hard worker and really consentrated. The people in the background are very active, this is shown by the blurryness of the photograph.

The Story

I think that this picture tells a grate story, because these two people look like students at a school, and from the looks of it, they are having fun. This tells a story of how when these two gentelmen were in school, and young, they haad fun, and did adventerus things.

Inspiring

ATPI Fall Contest. I believe that this photo is powerful, or has a powerful meaning because, these two gesse resemble pure love and what makes the picture more powerful is that the two gesse's neck and head form a heart. Wich a heart is a symbol for love. White is the symbol for purity. It has very good lighting, it looks like it was taken out in the day light.

Diffrences

I think that the diffrence between the pinhole camera and the SLR camera is that with the pinhole you couldnt really be sure on what you were taking a picture of. With the SLR you are sure of what you are taking a picture of, because you can look through the lense and see.

Dislike

I dislike this picture, alot. It is too blurry and it makes the image (person) look like a ghost. This picture does not capture alot of emotion.

Good One

I really, really, like this picture. I think that the photografer did a grate job. I like the objects in this picture, I also, like how and were they stand.

Bad Picture

This is a bad picture, because their is alot of dead space. Also, there is not much emotion shown

Good Picture

I really like this picture. This photografer captured the image when the person was showing emotion. This is a candid moment, and there is not alot of dead space.
